This document (Volume I ) focuses on the rationale for sexuality education and provides sound technical advice on characteristics of effective programmes. A companion document (Volume II ) focuses on the topics and learning objectives to be covered at different ages in basic sexuality education for children and young people from 5 to 18+ years of age, together with a bibliography of useful resources. Guidance includes following topics: implementation of progress reporting at national level indicator construction, a guide on indicators for monitoring and reporting on the health sector response to HIV, summary of changes for 2015 global AIDS response progress reporting; the future of Global AIDS responce progress reporting, list of combined set of GARPR and UA indicators. The Essential Packages Manual is a comprehensive guide for successful sexual reproductive health and rights programmes for young people, the manual provides examples, stories and a wealth of tools and resources. Essential Packages Manual: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Programmes for Young People The toolkit includes guidelines to create conditions for successful youth participation in research and enhancing the effectiveness of youth SRHR programmes, as well as 3 types of manuals to train and support young people to conduct qualitative data collection for research and monitoring and evaluation. This guidelines defines CSE, answers common questions and sorts fact from fiction, connects good quality CSE to global health goals, promotes approaches which recognise young people’s lived experience, links to reports on what works and what obstructs CSE and SRHR goals, provides a checklist of activities for CSE advocates.
